KIDA Championship Weather Update
Dear KIDA Family,
As many of you may have seen, the weather situation for this weekend has deteriorated and may cause difficulties for this weekend’s 2018 KIDA Championships. As a team, we have discussed the situation, reviewed the options available, and determined the best of course of action moving forward.
Given the number of logistical elements related to hosting and running KIDA Championships, we have determined that it is best to run Championships as originally scheduled. Between coordinating the venue, vendors, judges, and unit logistics, moving the date would be too difficult and expensive to the association.
We understand that this is a difficult situation for all units, staff, students, and parents. Everyone has worked incredibly hard and we want to do our best to reward the accomplishments of all units this season on the Championship floor. This weekend will require a level of patience, understanding, and flexibility given the evolving weather situation. We appreciate your grace and understanding in helping us make the most of this situation.
Future Communication Approaches
Moving forward, KIDA will communicate to members via email as well as through Facebook and the website. Please make sure that you are checking for any important updates. Additionally, please communicate all updates to students, parents, and supporters so everyone is on the same page.
If Your Unit Needs to Pull Out of Championships
If your unit needs to pull from Championships, please use the following protocol:
- Pulling Out Now Until Friday Evening (10pm) – Please CLICK HERE to email KIDA that you need to pull from Championships
- Pulling Out After 10pm Friday – Please call and/or text Craig Kazda at 717-357-0951. Given the urgency of the situation, please DO NOT EMAIL!
- All communications will be followed up on with a confirmation from KIDA
Championship Schedule Changes
If units pull out, there may be changes to the schedule. These changes will be distributed via email and on the KIDA website. We will work to maintain everyone’s original logistic schedule as best as possible. If additional changes are required, we will continue to communicate to everyone as quickly as possible. We appreciate your flexibility during this evolving situation and we wish everyone the best going to KIDA Championships.
