Experience-Based Classifications

In June 2018, the membership of KIDA approved a new and innovated classification system change for the upcoming 2019 KIDA season. This new classification system will meet several objectives in providing the best educational experience for all units, students, and instructors as you continue to grow and develop your programs.

Additionally, this new classification system will help align KIDA locally with the national standard. This alignment will have a great influence for all KIDA units as we bring adjudicators into our association to provide their feedback and years of experience to our units.

Each class will be defined according to the WGI standards as outlined in the WGI Rule book and will be judged accordingly, with the following special exceptions/additions:

WORLD CLASSIFICATION

This classification is for those units that have well defined personalities and are highly creative and unique. Some very sophisticated challenges are placed on these performers primarily through simultaneous responsibility and vocabulary. Performers are very experienced and fully trained. They explore innovative program concepts and strive to set new standards within the activity.

WGI EQUIVALENT – WORLD CLASS

PLATINUM CLASSIFICATION

This classification is for those units who have demonstrated a depth of training and skills that are consistent to one another, and are more challenging. There is greater consistency in the range of skills and physical development. The design of these programs are often freshly unique and original.
