WGI Color Guard Update: Day 2

All 3 KIDA Semi-Finalists Advance to Finals

wgi-2014_logoDay two continued the success of Day 1 for the KIDA units competing at the 2014 WGI World Color Guard Championships in Dayton, OH. In the Scholastic A Color Guard competition, both Red Land HS (Lewisberry, PA) and Lampeter-Strasburg HS (Lancaster, PA) moved on to finals competition. Red Land, presenting their show “I’m More Than That” is ranked 8th with a score of 89.315. Lampeter-Strasburg, with their show “Behind the Glass” is ranked 14th with a score of 87.915 in extremely tight competition in Dayton. Only 15 units have the privileged of making finals of the over 100 units who started yesterday in preliminary competition. Both units will perform tonight in the University of Dayton Arena in the WGI A Finals.

In the Scholastic World competition, Mechanicsburg HS (Mechanicsburg, PA) competed with their show “Forever Young”. The dramatic performance finished in 13th place in their round with a score of 82.200 which also qualifies Mechanicsburg for Scholastic World Finals. Finals for World Color Guard conclude WGI competition for the weekend tomorrow night in Dayton.
