KIDA Finalists Finish Strong in Dayton


wgi-2014_logoCompetition has concluded at the 2014 WGI World Color Guard Championships in Dayton, OH. All KIDA units participating in

finals finished incredibly strong. In the Scholastic A Color Guard competition, both Red Land HS (Lewisberry, PA) and Lampeter-Strasburg HS (Lancaster, PA) competed Friday night in Scholastic A Finals. Red Land, presenting their show “I’m More Than That” placed 8th with a score of 90.050. Lampeter-Strasburg, with their show “Behind the Glass” finished 14th w

ith a score of 85.650. 123 units from around the world traveled to Dayton to compete in Scholastic A competition. Only 15 units qualified for finals. Congratulations to both Red Land and Lampeter-Strasburg for their amazing finishes Friday night at WGI Finals.



Scholastic World competition concluded Saturday night in Dayton with Mechanicsburg HS (Mechanicsburg, PA) performing their show “Forever Young”. Mechanicsburg finished in 11th place Saturday night with a score of 83.950. Congratulations to Mechanicsburg HS on becoming a WGI World Color Guard Finalist!

This upcoming weekend, WGI action continues with the 2014 WGI Percussion World Championships. Mechanicsburg HS Percussion Ensemble will represent KIDA in the Scholastic Open classification with their show “One Foot in Front of the Other”. Conestoga Valley HS (Lancaster, PA) will become the first KIDA unit in association history to attend WGI World Championships in the Scholastic Concert Percussion classification with their production “Cathedral and Hymn”.
