Mentor Program
Building the Future of the Indoor Arts: The KIDA Mentor Program
The Keystone Indoor Drill Association is proud to offer its Mentor Program, a dedicated initiative designed to support the next generation of indoor marching arts leadership.

Starting a new program or taking over for the first time can be as daunting as it is exciting. Our mission is to ensure that no director feels they have to navigate those challenges alone. This program is specifically crafted to foster growth, confidence, and sustainability for young directors—particularly those in their first year with a new ensemble.

A Holistic Approach to Leadership
Unlike the KIDA Consultation Coupon, which provides targeted feedback on a specific production or performance, the Mentor Program takes a holistic, year-long look at the health and development of your entire program.

We believe that a successful season is built on more than just a great show design. Our mentors provide guidance across all facets of program management, including:
-
Staffing & Recruitment: Finding the right team and defining roles.
-
Rehearsal Strategies: Techniques for efficient time management and student engagement.
-
Parent & Student Management:Navigating the logistics of booster clubs, volunteers, and student dynamics.
-
Administrative Logistics: Budgeting, travel planning, and show-day preparation.
-
Program Culture: Building an inclusive and motivating environment for performers.

How It Works
When you join the program, you are paired with an experienced mentor—a veteran director or educator who has "been there and done that."
This partnership is built on your terms:
-
Year-Long Support: Your mentor is available throughout the entire competitive season and off-season.
-
Flexible Communication: Check in at whatever interval works best for you—whether it’s a weekly phone call, a monthly coffee, or an occasional email when questions arise.
-
Peer-to-Peer Wisdom: Mentors offer insights gained from years of personal experience, helping you avoid common pitfalls and celebrate your program's unique wins.

Get Involved
